Jim Ingebritsen is the Co-Founder, Managing Partner and President of Parallel Capital Partners.  Parallel Capital Partners is a private real estate company that acquires, owns and operates high quality properties in select long-term growth markets in the western United States, including Hawaii. Jim has primary responsibility for the firm’s capital management activities, co-chairs its investment committee and serves on its senior management committee.

Career Overview

Jim has 25 years of real estate experience as a principal, during which he has worked extensively in the acquisition, asset management and portfolio management of commercial property throughout the western U.S. and Hawaii.  Under his leadership well over 200 buildings have been purchased, repositioned and monetized encompassing aggregate transaction volume in excess of $4B.

Past Experience

Jim began his real estate career in 1987 with The Shidler Group (TSG), a private national investment group based in Honolulu, where he worked on acquisitions primarily in the San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Phoenix markets.  In 1989 Jim moved to San Diego to spearhead the development of the southwest region for TSG and in 1994 was made a Partner. 

During the 1995-2003 timeframe, Jim formed more than 45 separate equity joint ventures with numerous capital partners – including Starwood Capital, Allstate, GE Capital, Praedium and Angelo, Gordon & Co. – which subsequently acquired over $1.5B of commercial assets.  This time period also saw TSG’s acquisition of over 2M square feet of industrial product in southern California that was subsequently rolled into the formation of a large private real estate operating company known as Westcore Industrial.

Jim also has experience in the public capital markets, having served from 2008-2012 as an executive, founding partner, and Chief Executive Officer of  Pacific Office Properties Trust,– a small cap public REIT which was formed by way of reverse merger with TSG in  2008.  In 2012, Jim co-founded Parallel Capital Partners, which is focused on private equity real estate projects, primarily located in the western U.S. markets.
